Happy (belated) 2014! Now that the New Year is here and our peak event planning season is in full swing, we thought we would take a minute to look back at how we spent Fall 2013 here at High Beam. Kara started out in Public Relations and spent a little time in New York City (which seems fitting, since she loves cold weather), before heading back to Austin and getting started with event planning. She worked at Texas Exes for a couple of years, planning UT alumni events, and then started exploring the festival world (she was in the mood for something a little more chaotic). Earlier this year, Kara was Registration Director for the 2013...more
Carley grew up in Pennsylvania and went to college in Washington, DC, where she worked for law firms (think West Wing). She eventually fled the capitol before her spirit was crushed in the dog-eat-dog world of DC lawyers. Besides working, Carley can be...more

On an unrelated (but equally important) note: Mandy is a total cat lady.
Shelby was born and raised in Florida, but her 2013 has been full of travels – including a semester abroad in France and the move to Austin to join the Beam Team! Shelby is also, apparently, awesome a Skype-ing; that’s how she...more
